I think it’s safe to say that we shop a lot and we know LA pretty darn well at this point. I used to think that New York had better design stores, but I’m not convinced anymore. LA has gotten GOOD. So we figured it was time to do one big ‘BEST DESIGN STORES IN LA’ post. This will not include vintage or thrift stores, fashion stores or big box as those are kinda obvious. As you can assume we have Target, West Elm, Cb2 Rejuvenation, Room and Board and all the usual suspects which we love and shop at, but this list is the smaller more LA based design stores that we feel check a lot of boxes – both in furniture, accessories and more importantly inspiration.
We’ll start on the east side, because, well it’s the best side … :).
– 1618 Silver Lake Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027
Lawson has two locations – Silverlake and West Hollywood. Both are pretty amazing – full of their original designs, vintage, local potters, with a ton of furniture and accessories. I’ve been shopping here for years and years (even shopped here during Secrets!) and it’s been a constant source of inspiration. I’d say in my top 5 design stores in LA.
– 1626 Silver Lake Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
Great kids stuff and more playful gifts and home accessories. No big pieces, but I never leave empty handed.
– 1716 Silverlake Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026

Isabella constantly changes her inventory and while some things are expensive I think it’s really reasonably priced, with unique pieces. She has old, new, big furniture, small jewelry and she is big on the California Casual look, leaning more ‘rustic’. She also does custom furniture. She has a location in Ojai that is even bigger.
